Like all great love stories, ours began with a little bit of luck, a crackling campfire, and a birthday party on a Cavan farm.

Though we both grew up in Cavan—Philip in town, and me out in the countryside—our paths never truly crossed until that evening at Sally O'Dowds 30th birthday. Under the stars, surrounded by friends, music, and firelight, we found ourselves deep in conversation, unaware that something truly special had just begun.

From that night on, our journey together has been full of laughter, love, and a few unforgettable adventures.

On the 9th of January 2022, Philip proposed on a beautiful, starlit night in La Gomera, one of the Canary Islands. Tucked away in a secret cave by the sea, with just the two of us, a romantic dinner, champagne, and the sound of crashing waves—it was everything you’d imagine and more. And because one proposal just wasn’t enough, he followed it with a second, heartfelt Irish proposal at our special place—Trá Bán in Connemara—on April 10th, 2022.

And in true leap year tradition, I had my turn! On February 29th, 2024, I surprised Philip with a proposal of my own on in beautiful gweedore Co. Donegal—because some love stories deserve three yeses.

We feel so lucky to have found one another and even luckier to be surrounded by such love and support. We can’t wait to celebrate our next chapter with all of you.
